Aim and fire
Turn and tilt the cannon with the arrow keys. Press Space to start the power bar and again to fire. Check the wind first, because it carries every shot.
How a match goes
Everyone shares one island. On your turn you attack; on everyone else's you defend. The last cannon left wins.
Defend between turns
Other players' turns are not downtime. Raise a molehill or a tower to block what's coming, or teleport out of the way.
Gold buys firepower
Shoot open treasure chests for gold, then spend it on the x-shot, the spikeroller or the dumbfire. Knock a player out and their gold is yours.
Mind the TNT
Barrels go off when hit and set off everything nearby: chests, other barrels, other cannons, and yours too if you're close.

What's been restored
Cannonballs! was made for WildTangent's Web Driver, a browser plugin that no current browser can run. Its online lobby has been offline for years.
This revival runs the original game code on a new implementation of that plugin, written for today's browsers. The islands, weapons, computer opponents and menus are all the originals.
